50 Shades of Grey Movie Casting News: Ian Somerhalder Fundraiser Book Giveaway on Twitter Stirs Christian Grey Buzz [POLL]

The buzz talk surrounding Ian Somerhalder taking on the lead role of Christian Grey in the highly-anticipated film adaptation of E.L. James' hit erotica novel "Fifty Shades of Grey" recently gained some momentum on Twitter. It's a known fact that the 34-year-old "Vampire Diaries" star is interested in the steamy role, and several fans agree that he'd make the perfect handsome businessman turned kinky sex fein. Somerhalder turned some heads on Twitter Monday, January 7, tweeting that he'd give away a personal copy of his "Fifty Shades of Grey" book with an intimate note inside in promotion of the IS Foundation. Hint hint, E.L. James?

"Fifty Shades" enthusiasts are abuzz after Somerhalder tweeted this on Monday:

The tweet provided a link to Somerhalder's Crowd Rise webpage which states in a personal message:

The charity sweepstakes has already helped raise over a whopping $57,000. Has Somerhalder managed to get his name out there for the role of Christian Grey (again) while promoting a stellar cause? Fellow fan-favorites Henry Cavill and Matt Bomer definitely have some competition to live up to!

Fans are anxious to find out who will be cast as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, but James and screenwriter Kelly Marcel insist that official casting decisions won't be made until the film's script is written and a director is chosen... so it looks like fans will just have to wait.

But given all the recent buzz surrounding Somerhalder (several fans and critics believe his recently trailer for the film project "Time Framed" makes a perfect "Fifty Shades" screen test/audition), are more fans beginning to believe that he'd make the perfect Christian Grey?
