It's the end of an era as we know it. It was just revealed that Giuliana Rancic will be stepping down as the host of E! News and will be replaced by someone who has long been after the hostess's gig. That's right, Maria Menounos will be the new face of the entertainment news program. We previously reported that there were tensions in Hollywood between the two news anchors, but it looks like the drama has exploded, as Maria has finally gotten what she wanted — Rancic's position on the panel. Giuliana revealed in a statement that she was stepping down for the position, but some sites are speculating that she might have been pushed out by the former Extra host.

Radar Online is reporting that Maria was officially given the position after Rancic made her statement on Wednesday.

"For more than a decade, I was fortunate enough to play a role in the success of E! News and will miss my family at the show," Giuliana explained in her farewell address.

However, fans of the star don't need to fret as she will still be taking part on other E! series including Fashion Police and Live! From the Red Carpet.

Yet the site is reporting that Giuliana's frenemy couldn't be happier about the new position at the network.

"Maria is beyond excited at the upcoming opportunity to be the anchor for E! News," the source explained, adding, "She came in gunning for Giuliana's job and she got it."

The news of her Rancic's replacement comes on the heels of the controversial comment that she made during a Fashion Police segment regarding Zendaya Coleman's hair.

Could it have been this controversy that led to that star stepping down from her job?
