F. Gary Gray's highly-anticipated new hip-hop film "Straight Outta Compton" hits theaters on August 14 (2015). But according to the popular Hollywood director, the movie's upcoming soundtrack alone should excite diehard N.W.A. fans. Legendary rapper Dr. Dre will be featured on a slew of amazing collaborations, with standout appearances by Eminem and Kendrick Lamar. Gray's pumped.

In a recent MTV News interview, the "Friday" award-winner explains:

"Dr. Dre, it took him 15 years to step out and say, 'I want to do music again' in the way that he's doing it. The soundtrack is insane. Seriously, it's incredible... He went deep and you can hear some of his influences, with jazz and soul and a little bit of funk. And Kendrick Lamar is on, Eminem - a lot of great guest stars. But it's really Dre and how he's evolved and how he's matured as not only a person, but as an artist. It's deep and it's great."

Gray recently attended San Diego's Comic-Con in promotion of a new short animated film based on the infamous video game, "Assassin's Creed Syndicate." Check it out:

After working so closely with Dre and fellow supergroup member Ice Cub, Gray strongly feels that he can promise viewers "a deeper look into gangsta rap pioneers." Watch the viral trailer below:

An official IMDb film description reads:

The group NWA emerges from the streets of Compton, California in the mid-1980s and revolutionizes pop culture with their music and tales about life in the hood.
