"The Tudors" heartthrob Henry Cavill has sparked a lot of "Fifty Shades of Grey" buzz lately... several fans would love to see the 29-year-old "Man of Steel" snag the coveted role of Christian Grey in the highly-anticipated film adaptation of E.L. James' hit erotica novel. Not only was Cavill recently named Fandango's "Breakout Star" of 2013, but in a recent Twitter fan poll, the British actor was deemed the contender with the "Best and Sexiest Christian Grey body." Given all the "Fifty Shades" hype surrounding Cavill, are James and producers finally taking notice? Reports confirm that a "Fifty Shades" film team recently met up with representatives at Cavill's talent agency, CAA (Creative Arts Agency). Of course this doesn't necessarily mean anything, but "Fifty Shades" enthusiasts are definitely taking notice...

Those involved behind-the-scenes with the "Fifty Shades of Grey" production have remained very hush-hush about anything having to do with the film... especially rumors surrounding casting. James and screenplay writer Kelly Marcel insist that no official decisions will be made until the script is finished and a director chosen. But that hasn't kept fans from speculating who should be cast as Christian Grey (and his kinky sidekick, Anastasia Steele). Now, an indiscreet tweet recently sent out by producer Dana Brunetti (president of Trigger Street Productions) has the internet buzzing that the new "Superman" is definitely being considered for the role:

@danabrunetti: "Meeting with 'agents' at CAA." (Wednesday, January 9).

Could Cavill be one of the men lingering in the background?! It'd probably be a long shot, but considering "Fifty Shades" producers are meeting with the agency that represents the "Count of Monte Cristo" star, who knows!

Several fans are pinning for Cavill to snag the part... not only does he resemble Grey physically, but his age and vibe better fit the role compared to other fan-favorites including Ian Somerhalder (34) and Matt Bomer (35). As one fan sums it up:

Becca: "Henry Cavill is the one. He's young, tall, masculine, broad-shouldered, has stunning gray eyes, strong face/jaw, is a great actor, charismatic, intimidating, and panty-droppingly beautiful!!!"

Fans shouldn't get ahead of themselves, however... "Fifty Shades" casting rumors typically get thrown way out of proportion once they hit social media. Brunetti later posted on Twitter:

‏@DanaBrunetti: "Speculating on the same thing over and over is not fascinating."

Whether that has anything to do with his previous "CAA" tweet remains a mystery.

Even so, Cavill remains a top fan-favorite contender for Grey, and all of the recent internet buzz only fuels the rumors that he should definitely be cast (alongside Emilia Clarke, according to many).

Yahoo! reports that the Creative Arts Agency and Cavill's publicists were contacted to speak out in response to all of the Christian Grey rumors... apparently there's been no word back yet.
