It's a dangerous business being in Bachelor nation, which one of the ex-contestants of Kailtyn Bristowe's season of The Bachelorette learned the hard way over the weekend. JJ Lane, who was cut by the leading lady during a two-on-one date in Ireland, was severely beaten on Sunday night after he finished taping "The Men Tell All" episode of the season. While the contestant might have been portrayed as the villain during this past season, along with his "Brokeback Bachelor" counterpart Clint, it wasn't someone in the cast who beat Lane up. It is being reported that the attack was actually gang-related and that Lane was "jumped by a group of at least 5 thugs."

TMZ is reporting on the incident, explaining that the beatdown happened while Lane and some of the crew members were leaving an after-party for the show. The site explained that the "gang members" were waiting outside of the party. Sources say that the fight escalated pretty quickly, as both Lane and a crew member were hit several times in the face.

While his relationship with Clint might have been damaged during filming for the show, there was one contestant that still had the star's back. Ben Zorn, who was also competing for Kaitlyn's heart, was quick to defend Lane after someone ran into the club to get help.

The site explained that Zorn broke up the fight.

According to E! News, witnesses are stating that it was definitely a fair fight as JJ held his own against the attackers. However, the contestant did get two black eyes in the altercation and was rushed to the ER to get checked out after the brawl.

Lane also took to his Twitter account to post a picture of the injuries sustained in the street fight, jokingly saying that fellow contestant Jonathan Holloway was the one who gave him the black eyes.
