President Barack Obama was speaking yesterday, Wednesday, July 16, to a gathering of reporters at the White House. While answering questions about Iran, he was asked if he was "content" in rejoicing in the recent nuclear deal even with four Americans being held hostage in the country. After a brief pause, President Obama then proceeded to tear CBS News' Major Garrett apart... in a professional manner, of course.

After calling Garrett up, the reported asked: "Can you tell the country, sir, why you are content, with all the fanfare around this deal, to leave the conscious of this nation, the strength of this nation, unaccounted for in relation to these four Americans?" He then asked if the President could comment on the Iran deal being a "last minute capitulation" and leaving the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff "hung out to dry."

Midway through Garrett's question – and statements seemingly opposing the decision – Obama let out a smirk. He then paused and commented, "I gotta give you credit, Major, for how you craft those questions. The notion that I am 'content' as I celebrate with American citizens languishing in Iranian jails- Major, that's nonsense. And you should know better."

The President then went on to explain that he's met with some of the families and that no one is, as the reporter put it, "content."

Check out the President's comment on Major Garrett below:

Obama added, after asserting his stance on Garrett's question, "The bottom line is this. This nuclear deal meets the national security interests of the United States and our allies. It prevents the most serious threat of Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon. That's why this deal makes our country safer and more secure."

What are your thoughts on the Iran nuclear deal? How about the question presented above as well as President Obama's reaction to it? Was it "nonsense"?

We know Bill Maher didn't care for it.
