Since Tiger Woods' second favorite thing was taken from him (women) his golf game just hasn't been the same. Thursday's 144th British Open wasn't any different than most of his outings since the scandal that shook his world a few years ago. The man who once stood as the number one golfer in the world is now in the hole, ranked at the 241 spot. With weather conditions as perfect as they could be, he shot 4-over-par 76 and that included just one birdie. After his horrid day, Woods went on to call himself out.

The beaten Woods admitted he made a lot of mistakes.

"I made so many mistakes," Woods said. "I just didn't play well. It was not ideal. It was just one of those mixed bags. I know that today is a very benign day. Guys are going to go low. Guys have been shooting good numbers. Unfortunately I did not do that. Hopefully the conditions will be tough tomorrow and I can put together a good round and we'll move up the board progressively."

Woods said that, in his upcoming outings, he'll have to do good under some tough conditions.

"I'm so far back and the leaderboard is so bunched that in order for me to get in there by Sunday," Woods continued. "I'm going to have to have the conditions tough and then obviously put together some really solid rounds. If you shoot some good, solid rounds in tough conditions like that, players can move up the board, and hopefully I'm one of them."

Golf fans thought Woods was coming back around when he tied for 32nd in the Greenbrier Classic, but it looks like that wasn't the case over in the British Open. Woods will probably miss the cut in his second consecutive major. This is the first time in his career that this has happened.

What do you think of what Woods has said about his poor performance this week? Do you think Tiger Woods will ever be able to bounce back?

Sharing this win with my son Charlie will be something I'll never forget. Thanks for all the support Akron.
