A while back, actor Adam Sandler found himself in some hot water when he offended a group of Native Americans on the set of his new film The Ridiculous Six. The group reportedly felt Sandler's film was offensive in how he spoke of their culture, so the extras decided to walk off the set. Now, however, the comedian is coming forth stating that it was all a misunderstanding.

Ridiculous Six is set to hit Netflix this coming December, and Sandler reportedly feels that once fans get a glimpse of the film, they'll undoubtedly see that he wasn't trying to hurt anyone with the jokes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In a recent interview with The Associated Press, Sandler commented: "It was just a misunderstanding and once the movie is out will be cleared up." He further calls the film "100 percent pro-American Indian," per the report.

The film allegedly takes the name from the famed The Magnificent Seven, which was released back in 1960, and pokes fun as classic Westerns.

Whether or not Sandler's comments are true – meaning that things will be cleared up upon the film's release – remains to be seen. Of course, given some of his past works, including Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison, The Waterboy, Jack & Jill, Grown Ups, and many more, it would appear agreeable that Sandler was merely trying to be silly while poking fun at Native Americans. Perhaps he just went about it the wrong way here.
