One of the original cast members of Saturday Night Live, George Coe, has died at the age of 86. The actor reportedly battled a long illness and passed away this Saturday at his home in Santa Monica, California. After word of his death spread, celebs and fans alike took to Twitter to share their condolences.

Coe held an impressive career in show business, spanning more than 50 years. Not only was he seen on the famed NBC series (for a very little bit), but he was also well-known for his voiceover work. Variety reports that Coe was the voice of Toyota for six years.

Furthermore, he was a voice in Archer as Woodhouse and Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

In television, his resume held a lengthy list of accomplished projects, including Nip/Tuck, Grey's Anatomy, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Gilmore Girls, The West Wing, The Golden Girls, and many more.

Rolling Stone is reporting that Coe was only featured on SNL as a cast member on the debut. He did, however, appear in other episodes. The actor was reportedly hired at the age of 46 because "NBC wanted an older presence to balance out all the young, then-unknown talent." He would become the oldest cast member to have ever joined the show until 2014 when Leslie Jones was added at the age of 47.

As mentioned, George Coe is currently being remembered on Twitter by his peers and fans. Take a look at some Twitter reactions below:
