A pair of nuns really, really don't want "I Kissed A Girl" singer Katy Perry to move into their old convent in Los Angeles. Sister Catherine Rose and Sister Rita Callanan filed a lawsuit on Friday against LA Archbishop Jose Gomez, claiming he does not have the right to sell the property that used to house the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Perry is now stuck in the middle of a property dispute between the nuns and Gomez. The nuns were part of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and used to live on the property in Los Feliz, but were moved to other locations by the diocese.

When they found out that the archbishop planned to sell the property to Katy Perry, they first had to find out who Katy Perry was.

"Well, I found Katy Perry and I found her videos," Callanan told the Los Angeles Times, "if it's all right to say, I wasn't happy with any of it."

Perry met with the nuns to try to convince them of the sale and allegedly sang "Oh Happy Day" to them. She also showed them a tattoo she has of the word "Jesus." However, the nuns were not sufficiently moved.

"In selling to Katy Perry, we feel we are being forced to violate our canonical vows to the Catholic Church," Sister Catherine Rose Holzman said according to the New York Times.

The nuns are trying to sell the property to restaurateur Dana Hollister, who may turn it into a boutique hotel. They say that they have the right to sell the property, not the archdiocese. They actually signed over the property to Hollister for $15.5 million but the archbishop says they don't have the right to make that decision.

Should Perry get the property, which she's had her eye on for two or three years, she would turn it into a sort of retreat for herself, her mother and her grandmother. A hearing will be held on July 30.
