Comedian Tig Notaro is gearing up for the release of her new HBO comedy special Boyish Girl Interrupted. To help her, the network decided to call on the likes of Jack Black, Sarah Silverman, Kate Micucci, Margaret Cho, Reggie Watts, and many more, to boost her confidence... even though she's "not a fan of any of those people," so she says.

Notaro, who hit many national headlines around the world when she released LIVE – a live stand-up special released through Louis CK's label in which she discusses the fact that she has cancer – but has been a prominent figure in the stand-up community for quite some time, has joined with HBO to produce the aforementioned special.

The network will air Boyish Girl Interrupted this coming Saturday, August 22 at 10 p.m.

Here's what some of the biggest names in comedy have to say about Notaro:

"She's a rare panther. That's why I wore this shirt," says The Brink star Jack Black.
"Her haircut says, 'I don't give a sh*t'," claims former Curb Your Enthusiasm lead Cheryl Hines.
"She's this huge force that comes in this teeny, tiny package." – Sarah Silverman
"Unexpected!" – Reggie Watts
"I wish I was watching her do comedy now. That'd be more fun than doing this." – Last Man on Earth's Kristen Schaal.

Readers, what are your thoughts on Notaro?

The comedian is also one of the hosts of the popular Earwolf podcast Professor Blastoff, which she leads with comedians Kyle Dunnigan and David Huntsberger. Additionally, she has a new Netflix documentary titled Tig.
