50 Shades of Grey Movie Casting News UPDATE: Ian Somerhalder, Shailene Woodley Rekindle Christian Grey, Anastasia Steele Buzz [POLL]

Rumors are still swirling over which two celebs should snag the coveted roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the highly-anticipated film adaptation of E.L. James' "Fifty Shades of Grey." While "Vampire Diaries" heartthrob Ian Somerhalder doesn't want to disappoint fans if he isn't chosen for the part, he's kept many Christian Grey enthusiasts on their toes with several minor "Fifty Shades" related projects. The buzz surrounding Grey's kinky sidekick Anastasia Steele significantly died down over the past few weeks, considering a majority of fans agree that former "Gilmore Girls" starlet Alexis Bledel is one of the only actresses right for the part. But what about "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" star, Shailene Woodley? Several recent "Fifty Shades" casting reports claim that the stunning 21-year-old rising star is the latest young Hollywood beauty to be connected to the steamy role. So what do "Fifty Shades" fans think - would Somerhalder and Woodley make the perfect onscreen love/sex companions?

34-year-old Somerhalder remains a prominent fan favorite in several of Mstarz's Christian Grey-related casting polls. Most of the buzz is due in part to Somerhalder's own actions. Several fans and critics believe that the former "Lost" star's recently released trailer for the short film project "Time Framed" makes a perfect "Fifty Shades" screen test/audition. Not to mention that the Louisiana native recently caught some attention on Twitter when he auctioned off his own personal copy of "Fifty Shades of Grey" in promotion of the IS Foundation (read more on that here).

Somerhalder recently discussed all of the Christian Grey hoopla with Mr. Porter Online, explaining, “Oh man, there's nothing official. It's just talk,” before then jesting, “Yeah, there's a website you can go to where you can just outfit your basement as a dungeon. So, you know, I thought I'd get prepared, just in case.”

Wow, wonder what girlfriend Nina Dobrev thinks of that! Apparently, she personally loves the idea of her leading man starring as the handsome and erotic Christian Grey...

Meanwhile, on to Anastasia Steele and Shailene Woodley.

Woodley (who starred opposite George Clooney in the critically acclaimed film "The Descendants"), was initially mentioned as a potential Steele "rising star" months ago... but quickly faded into the "Fifty Shades" background. Until now.

According to several recent gossip reports (including  Digital Spy), the young award winning actress has already "caught the eye" of James and producers. Hard to believe, considering those connected with the film insist such casting decisions won't be made until a screenplay is written and a director chosen... but do fans think Woodley could fit the part?

Twilight producer Marty Bowen recently observed, "The next big stars are the actress who plays Anastasia Steele and the actor who plays Christian Grey. They will certainly have an invitation to the A-list table." Is this Woodley's perfect chance to establish herself in the fast-paced world of Hollywood? She definitely has the young, innocent look... and her upcoming appearances in Veronica Roth's "Divergent" and "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" already have some fans buzzing.
