The current season of the 2015 Emmy-nominated sketch comedy series Key & Peele will stand as the show's final run of episodes on Comedy Central. This series will end after season five comes to an end, with stars Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele moving on from TV to a bigger, funnier future. The show isn't cancelled, but it has played its role in the bigger picture for the duo. Read more on this news below.

Speaking to The Wrap this week, Key announced that the show would end after the already filmed episodes.

"This is our final season - and it's not because of Comedy Central, it's us," he explained. "It was just time for us to explore other things, together and apart. I compare it to Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor. We might make a movie and then do our own thing for three years and then come back and do another movie. I'm thinking we could do that every three years - take a year, go bang out a movie. That's the plan right now."

The duo will clearly work together on more projects, some of which are already on the way.

There will be Key & Peele productions coming up," Key said. "We're doing the reboot of Police Academy, and there's a TV show in the works that me might do for Comedy Central. There's lots of stuff we have cooking up."

We also know that the duo have a "cat caper" entitled Keanu coming to theaters in the near future (via Slash Film).
