The New York Mets have been busy the last few days. In just one week, they added four new players to their roster and the biggest acquisition thus far was A's closer Tyler Clippard. Clippard now joins a bullpen that's armed with Jeurys Familia, Bobby Parnell and Jenrry Mejia. At 30 years old, Clippard boasts a 2.79 ERA with 37 appearances this season. In Clippard's career, he is a two-time All-Star with a career 2.65 ERA. His best season came in 2012 when he saved 32 games.

The Mets look to use Clippard as a set-up man behind Familia. He gives the Mets some extra-added security since Closer Familia blew his last two save attempts. If the Mets make the playoffs, Clippard may prove to be their saving grace because Mejia is ineligible to participate due to a suspension relating to performance-enhancing drugs.

In the trade, the Mets did away with the 2014 third-round draft pick Casey Meisner. Meisner is the highest-ranked prospect the Mets have traded under Sandy Alderson's rule. The 6-foot-7 right-handed starter is 10-4 in Class-A ball with a 2.35 ERA.

Also added to the roster are Kelly Johnson, Juan Uribe and Michael Conforto. Both Johnson and Uribe came in through trade while Conforto was brought up through the Mets' minor league system.

The Johnson trade might be the most interesting one based solely on nostalgic purposes. Johnson's first four seasons were spent with the Mets' rivals down in Atlanta. Johnson spoke on how weird it was becoming a Met right after being traded.

"As a young player, being in Atlanta, coming in to Shea before Citi, this was intimidating," Johnson said. "The place was rocking. The team was really good. It was just a big rivalry. Being there and seeing the way that guys like Chipper Jones and John Smoltz got up for this series -- each way, home and away, and especially coming here to this city -- it is a little bit weird. It's very weird."
