Following a humorous Golden Globes skit where host Tina Fey insinuated that pop-country songstress Taylor Swift should "keep her hands off" of the honorary Mr. Golden Globe Sam Fox, actor Michael J. Fox joked to reporters that he'd "never ever" want to see his son date the infamous Hollywood bachelorette. The "Spin City" star's teasing (yet offensive) words soon went viral, prompting the "Red" songstress to recently hit up Twitter, letting fans know that Fox sincerely apologized and that there's no bad blood brewing between the two. While Swift accepted Fox's apology and continues to laugh off all of the jokes surrounding her personal love life, reports confirm that such innocent jabs actually both the 23-year-old starlet (especially after her recent 'Haylor' breakup with One Direction heartthrob, Harry Styles).

As originally reported by Mstarz:

In a rather amusing onstage skit, Golden Globe hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, both in a state of alcohol-related "sloppiness," confronted Swift's tendency to serial date in Hollywood. Check it out:

As for Michael J. Fox's thoughts on the prospect of his young son dating the popular "Red" songstress - "No,no... Just back off. I don't keep up with it at all," he explained to New York Magazine's Vulture on Wednesday, Jan. 16. "Taylor Swift writes songs about everybody she goes out with, right? What a way to build a career."

If Sam brought Swift home for a nice family dinner, Fox probably wouldn't even blink an eye - "I wouldn't even know who she was," the "Back to the Future" star confesses. But once the breakup tunes started rolling, the 51-year-old actor would definitely start to take notice... "'Sam, You Piece of Sh#t.' Oh . . . that was the girl you brought home!" Fox mused at Ann Leary's book party for "The Good House."

FYI, Sam Fox was named Mr. Golden Globe at the prestigious ceremony Sunday evening (Jan. 13) for his work with Farmers Web, a startup platform that helps small farms sell goods to wholesale buyers (like restaurants).

Several of Swift's fans quickly came to her defense, lambasting Fox for his "cruel and mocking" words. Even so, all seems to be forgiven... Swift recently tweeted on Jan. 18:

@taylorswift13: "Hey everybody, Michael J. Fox got in touch with me today and we are good. Thank you for having my back."

Swift publically accepted Fox's apology, but that doesn't mean such jabs about her personal love life still don't manage to get underneath her skin. Love and relationships is a touchy subject for the young "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" crooner, who allegedly dated 13 guys over the past four years (including John Mayer, Nick Jonas, and Harry Styles). According to an "inside" source at RadarOnline, "[N]ow she's the butt of jokes on Saturday Night Live, in the tabloids and on the late night shows. She laughed it off, but the jokes made about her at the Golden Globes got under her skin."

But if anything, it looks as if Swift is ready to learn from her past relationship mistakes - "She really wants to make an effort to slow down and not jump from boyfriend to boyfriend," the pal continues. "In a weird way all the negative press has really opened her eyes and will be good for her!"

So what do fans think... is it about time for Swift to find her "true" love, or is living the single life for awhile the best thing?
