The red band trailer for Michael Bay's new film, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi was just released starring John Krasinski, Pablo Schreiber, Toby Stephens, David Denman and more! Continue reading to find out more news on this movie including its release date and plot details.

According to Entertainment Weekly, "The movie is adapted from the book 13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi, by Mitchell Zukoff. The acclaimed nonfiction book, released last fall, details the assault on a U.S. diplomatic compound. The attacks killed U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, U.S. Foreign Service Information Management Officer Sean Smith, two CIA contractors, and and approximately 100 attackers." If anyone were to direct such a film, it would be Bay.

ETOnline describes the trailer as building, "with palpable tension, to an explosion-filled crescendo of violence that is a far cry from many of the gritty, realistic war films of recent years. Relying less on the fear generated by painfully tense moments (like the first trailer for American Sniper or The Hurt Locker) and more on the blind, mad insanity we often associate with Bay's action adventure epics."

"Chuck Hogan [The Town and The Strain] wrote the script adapting the book, which details how on September 11, 2012, terrorists attacked the U.S. State Department Special Mission Compound in Benghazi. The focus is on six members of a security team that valiantly fought to defend the many Americans stationed there. They only partially succeeded: Stevens and a foreign service worker were killed in one attack, and two contract workers were killed during a second assault on a CIA station nearby," says the Hollywood Reporter. The material is more recent historical matter and in the wrong hands could go horribly wrong and it's important that the story be told accurately and delicately. It's not only important to be entertained, but to not be misinformed for the sake of creative license.

Check out the trailer for yourself and watch for 13 Hours in theaters January 16, 2016.
