It looks like the Wonder Years star's hiatus is behind him! Fred Savage is finally getting back in front of the small screen alongside Parks and Recreation's Rob Lowe in a new series called The Grinder. TVLine says, "In the single-camera comedy, Lowe stars as beloved TV lawyer Dean Sanderson (aka "The Grinder"). When his long-running hit series comes to an end, Dean finds himself at a crossroads in life and decides to move back to his small hometown, thinking he has the experience to take over his family's law firm." The TV show will have a meta aspect to it in the sense that Lowe is playing a successful actor as a successful actor himself having been on NBC's Parks and Recreation for a four year run. Savage, according to Deadline, has been making a "solid second career for himself as a series director/producer...in what would mark Savage's first TV series role in almost a decade...he has signed on to co-star...His recent directing/producing credits include Modern Family, Two Broke Girls and Garfunkel And Oates.

Savage spoke to People about the show's premiere and Lowe as well, "Rob's character's approach to law, he probably knows more of the words, more of the dramatic aspects of law. Because most law, at least in their firm, most law in general is kind of boring. It's a lot of drudgery, it's a lot of paperwork, it's a lot of settling and a lot of arbitration." He goes on to talk about TV only really capturing the exciting parts of being a lawyer, which is understandable because "no one wants to see people just grinding out paperwork," People reports.

Jake Kasdan (New Girl) is directing the project with Andrew Mogel, Jarrad Paul and Nick Stoller producing, TheWrap reports. The show premieres September 29th on Fox! It will be excited to see this project come together and to see Savage after all of these years! Check out The Grinder's official trailer here.
