Chris Brown 'Swatting,' Prank Call for Domestic Violence at LA Home

The Los Angeles Police Department swarmed Chris Brown's Hollywood Hills home on Monday, Jan. 21, after receiving a phone call of domestic violence at the singer's house that was later identified as a prank.

Brown, 23, became the latest celebrity to fall victim to the "swatting" prank when a 911 call was placed to local authorities stating that a mother and father were having a domestic violence dispute and the husband had a gun, TMZ reported. When police arrived at the scene there was no incident and no one at Brown's residence.

Last week, Tom Cruise and Kris Jenner - matriach of the Kardashian and Jenner clan - fell victim to the celebrity prank craze. Police arrived at Cruise's Beverly Hills property on Jan. 17 after receiving a hoax call but found no actual emergency or in-progress crime.

The following day, police showed up at Kardashian's former Malibu residence to deal with a supposed emergency after receiving a 911 call from a person believed to be a member of family. When police arrived at the home, they found the place empty. The family was contacted and officers then traveled 20 miles to investigate the reality show family's current home in Hidden Hills.

Kim Kardashian, who was not at the family's home during the incident, took to Twitter to voice her anger with the situation.

"These pranks are NOT funny! People can get arrested for this! I hope they find out who is behind this. It's dangerous and not a joke!" she wrote.

Miley Cyrus was a victim of the hi-tech prank when the Los Angeles Police Department rushed to the former Disney star's home after receiving 911 call of a home invasion and possible shots being fired in August, according to TMZ. Cops arrived at her house with their guns drawn but found the home quiet with no one there and soon realized it was a prank call.

In December, Los Angeles police arrested a 12-year-old boy for calling in domestic disturbances to the homes of celebrities in the "swatting" prank. The Los Angeles Times reported that the boy, whose identity has not been released, allegedly resides with his mother in Southern California in an unstable home.
