Throughout Vin Baker's lucrative NBA career, he amassed close to $100 million and ended up blowing it in a short amount of time. It's the telltale story where a once former premiere athlete blows all their cash on a hard lifestyle that involves alcohol and bad friends. The four-time All-Star is considered to be one of the top offensive fowards in the history of the NBA and now he has a different path. After a few years of being sober, Baker may end up with a managerial position in a Starbucks in Rhode Island.

During an interview with the local Providence Journal, Baker said he loved the town his Starbucks is in. According to him, it reminds him of his hometown.

"I love North Kingstown. It reminds me of my hometown, so it's comfortable," Baker said. "I like this community. Starbucks draws a lot of repeat customers and so many know me now."

Baker then went on to talk about his alcoholism and how he blew his fortune.

"I was an alcoholic, I lost a fortune. I had a great talent and lost it. For the people on the outside looking in, they're like 'Wow.' For me, I'm 43 and I have four kids. I have to pick up the pieces. I'm a father. I'm a minister in my father's church," the former NBA star said. "I have to take the story and show that you can bounce back. If I use my notoriety in the right way, most people will appreciate that this guy is just trying to bounce back in his life."

During his NBA days, Baker was picked eighth in the 1993 draft. He signed a ten-year, $17.5 million deal with the Bucks and after only two years he became an All-Star. In 1997 he signed with Seattle and inked a seven-year, $86 million deal.
