'The Flash' Season 2 Spoilers: Will Grant Gustin's Barry Allen Meet Ciara Renee's Hawkgirl?

With the first season cliffhanger leaving audiences hanging, the CW network is already underway with Season 2 of The Flash. Before joining the superhero team in Legends of Tomorrow, Will Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) have a face-to-face confrontation with Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee)?

In our first season recap, Barry Allen finally woke up from his coma, after being struck by lightning. Given super-speed powers, Barry belonged to small group of friends, Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), and Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes), who knew his secret identity. They worked together against super villains, including Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), and teamed up with the Arrow (Stephen Amell). But they never realized their true enemy was lurking within, The Reverse-Flash (Tom Cavanagh).

In the first season finale, a rift in the time stream was torn open after the Reverse Flash was finally defeated and wiped out from history. Unfortunately, the innocent citizens of Central City were caught in the crossfire, as the the rift threatened to obliterate everything. While Captain Cold was helping the running crowd find safety, Hawkgirl was staring out, in awe and in a state of shock, at the growing rift.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly's Spoiler Room, Renee teases the scarlet speedster and the super-heroine in training will meet in the premiere, but their first meeting will not be what you expect. "She's not bold, she's not strong."

Because Hawkgirl hasn't learned her true powers, Renee reveals, "It's a dichotomy of someone who is awkward and all of a sudden she has this huge power and strength and she'll have to reconcile that within herself."
