This coming Thursday, Aug. 6, will be the end of an era, folks. Jon Stewart is leaving The Daily Show after an amazing 17-year run. The comedian helped shape the fake news format and unintentionally became a go-to for legit news. With that, MStars News is counting down the top 5 best moments from the Comedy Central hit before it ends.

So, let's remind ourselves of just five (of the many) times that Jon Stewart and his staff made us laugh, helped us understand just what the hell was going on in the world, and shot us some serious straight-talk.

5. The Confederate Flag Conversation

It could be argued that Jon Stewart was the reason the confederate flag debate began. Following the unspeakable acts that went down in South Carolina – in which Dylann Roof shot up a church and left nine dead in a racially charged act – Stewart kicked off The Daily Show calling out racists and their respect of the confederate flag. His video went viral and sparked a conversation that eventually led to the flag being removed from several historical buildings.

4. His Crossfire Appearance

Stewart is, firstly, a comedian. But when he appeared on CNN's Crossfire he was anything but funny. Which, well, was fantastic and just what we needed.

3. Any Interview/Debate with Bill O'Reilly

Jon Stewart and Bill O'Reilly have had a rather rocky relationship, but it seems safe to say that the two do, in fact, respect one another. So, whether they're discussing the state of our nation or something such as white privilege, you can guarantee that while they'll most likely disagree, the end game will be undoubtedly entertaining.

2. The Glenn Beck Chalkboard

One word: Genius.

1. The Delicious Dessert That Was Donald Trump's Presidential Run Announcement

Like we said, there are SO many amazing Daily Show clips to choose from, but the recent one in which Stewart pokes fun at Donald Trump for his presidential announcement is hard to pass up.

Check out the clip below and try not to laugh so hard that your boss discovers you're not actually working.

The Daily Show with Trevor Noah kicks off on Sept. 28.
