Slipknot bassist Alessandro "V Man" Venturella was rushed by ambulance to the hospital on Sunday night in the middle of a concert in Hartford, Connecticut. At this time, it is unclear exactly what happened but the band finished their set after Venturella was taken away.

The band had just performed "AOV" when the performance was paused for about twenty minutes while Venturella was put into an ambulance and taken to the hospital.

"I'm gonna let you know what's going on right now. I'm sorry to say that our bass player, Alex, had... Something happened. I'm not sure what happened. He's been put into an ambulance and he's going to the hospital right now as we speak," lead singer Corey Taylor announced to the crowd.

Taylor then let the audience know that they weren't going to cancel the rest of the concert because of Venturella's hospitalization.

"But I want you all to make f*cking noise for him. Send him some f*cking love. Now, we had a choice to come back out here. We've had to modify some sh*t, but we're gonna keep on playing for you. It's what we want, it's what Alex would f*cking want," Taylor said.

Slipknot did not disappoint fans. They are currently on their Summer's Last Stand tour, along with Lamb of God, Bullet for My Valentine and Motionless in White. During the tour, Slipknot has been playing 17 songs a night and on Sunday in Hartford, they still performed 15 even though they were a man down.

The crowd chanted the bassist's name as the concert continued, showing their support:

In 2010, Slipknot's original bassist Paul Gray died of an accidental overdose. Venturella, who had performed with Krokodil and Mastodon, joined Slipknot in 2014.

"Alex, our bass player, he's so into it that he's started to kind of come up to the front, really started to own it," Taylor said about the bassist in an interview last month.
