We literally can't even with all these celebrity breakups!! Not only has news of Perrie Edwards and Zayn Malik's breakup make headlines earlier today, but Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani, as well as Reba McEntire and Narvel Blackstock have also called it quits within the last couple of hours. Well button down the hatches because another longtime couple has officially called off their relationship. It seems that Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy are just the latest celebrity couple to go their separate ways. However, much like the above mentioned couples, they will still work together in the new ABC series, The Muppets.

According to Us Weekly, the couple revealed their split in a press conference earlier this morning during a Television Critics Association panel, much to the surprise of fans.

"Piggy and I have gone our separate ways," Kermit explained ahead of the new series premiere, which will take place this fall. The series is being described as a mockumentary style show in the same vein as The Office and Parks and Recreation.

The couple also released a statement, via TIME saying that they have come to the decision to live their lives separately, now that they are going to be back on TV together.

"After careful thought, thoughtful consideration and considerable squabbling, we have made the difficult decision to terminate our romantic relationship," the stars explained. "We will continue to work together on television and in all media now known or hereafter devised, in perpetuity, throughout the universe. However, our personal lives are now distinct and separate, and we will be seeing other people, pigs, frogs, et al. This is our only comment on this private matter...unless we get the right offer. Thank you for your understanding."

Missy Piggy also took to her Twitter account to post the statement about her breakup with the green amphibian.
