Syfy has officially announced the premiere date and released a promo or the second half of Season 5 of Haven. In the upcoming Season 5B of Haven, what does October have in store for Audrey Parker (Emily Rose), Duke Crocker (Eric Balfour), and Nathan Wuornos (Lucas Bryant).
Based on the Stephen King novella, The Colorado Kid, FBI agent Audrey Parker (Rose) arrived in Haven, Maine, on what she believes is a routine assignment. But the longer she stayed, the more curious she become about the townspeople, who seemed to be part of the supernatural and a shocking connection to her past.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Syfy ordered a super-sized fifth season. There will be up to 26 episodes, which is more than any broadcast drama season, (remember 24 had 24 episodes), let alone cable to handle. There was one helluva catch though.
The 26 episodes will be split across two years. 13 episodes previously aired in the fall and the rest of the 13 will start airing in 2015. This is why Season 5 is being referred to "Season 5B."
As TV Line reports, Syfy has confirmed that Season 5B will premiere in the beginning of October.
From the official Haven Facebook Page, the caption states, "We're back, Havenites! New episodes of Haven air Thursday, October 8th at 10/9c on Syfy! Share across the Interwebs using #SaveHaven"
Showrunner Matt McGuinness stated in an interview with TVLine, "The tsunami of Troubles brought by Duke has Haven-ites locked down for their own safety. Fortunately, Audrey and Nathan are locked down together, which is nice for them."
McGuinness also revealed to the same entertainment site, "Duke (Eric Balfour) will struggle with the guilt of causing some serious pain to the town, and deal with it in a very Duke way: By being selfish, noble, clever, and brave - in that order."
As People mentions, in real life, Balfour married his girlfriend of five years, fashion designer Erin Chiamulion. The lovely couple tied the knot in a romantic ceremony before an intimate group of family and friends at a private estate in Pacific Palisades, California.
Season 5B of Haven will premiere Thursday, October 8, at 10pm on Syfy.
