From the director of the Austin Powers movies, HBO continues with its political satire, The Brink. In Episode 8, with World War III looming, will Walter Larson (Tim Robbins) and Rafiq Massoud (Aasif Mandvi), and Alex Talbot (Jack Black) find out Who's Grover Cleveland?

In our premiere recap, Alex (Black) and Rafiq (Mandvi) found themselves in the middle of a riot as a rebel army seized the Pakistani government. While President Julian Navarro (Esai Morales) is trying to prevent war, smarmy Walter Larson (Robbins) is trying to stay sober after a wild sexcapade with a high class call girl. Unfortunately, everything is spinning out of control, when a high-strung pilot is flying his jet plane while doped out of his mind.

According to TV Guide, with tensions rising, Walter tries to convince President Navarro to act with caution. On the aircraft carrier, Zeke must deal with the women in his life, his ex and his new love who's carrying his child. How much time does Zeke have to say everything he feels before he and his fellow pilots get new orders. Inside the Embassy, Alex tries to make amends with Rafiq and Fareeda (Melanie Kannokada).

In an interview with DNA India, Robbins describes the satirical aspect of the show, " Satire is important to a culture, we haven't had a lot of satire recently.I don't think anyone said Dr. Strangelove made light of the potential for nuclear catastrophe. In fact, it probably illuminated that possibility more so than any other film made before or after it, because it brought an audience into the absurdity of it.

The Shawshank Redemption actor adds, "And in the absurdity lay the possibility that it actually could happen. So, if you introduce that concept through satire, it can be more effective than doing so in a drama."

As we previously mentioned, The Brink has been renewed for Season 2.

Because of True Detective 90 minute Season 2 finale, episode 8 of The Brink will air at 11pm on Sunday instead of its usual time slot.
