Justin Bieber thinks Chris Brown deserves to win a Grammy Award this year... that obviously means that the "Boyfriend" crooner defends Brown's past domestic assault on R&B princess Rihanna. Wait, what?! When Billboard magazine recently asked the Biebs which artist he thinks should bring home the prestigious gramophone trophy in 2013, the 18-year-old pop star responded that Brown's "music is really good" and that's what the Recording Academy should focus on - the music. Several gossip outlets (including Hollywood Life) hints that Bieber's support of Breezy goes back to his violent 2009 assault against on-and-off again girlfriend, Rihanna. Right...

Funny how such rumors pop up after reports confirm that Brown was recently in yet another violently physical altercation with a fellow musician... this time Frank Ocean (read more on that here). BTW - rumors have it that Ocean doesn't plan on performing at the Grammys anymore because he injured his finger in the recording studio brawl.

Anyway, when Billboard asked the Biebs who he personally believes should win a Grammy this year, the "As Long as You Love Me" superstar mentioned longtime industry friend, Brown:

"Chris Brown. I'm a fan. His music is really good. That's what they should focus on: his music."

With that rather cryptic ending side-note, Bieber is probably referring to the people who still don't believe Brown deserves to be "celebrated" for his past shady actions. For example, after Brown snagged two honors at the 2012 Grammys, country star Miranda Lambert tweeted:

@mirandalambert: "Chris Brown twice? I don't get it. He beat on a girl...Not cool that we act like that didn't happen. He needs to listen to 'Gunpowder and Lead' and be put back in his place. Not at the Grammys."

So maybe the Biebs doesn't exactly agree with Lambert... but that doesn't necessarily mean he supports Brown getting away with domestic violence, either!

Apparently some tabloids just want to cause some Grammy controversy... life spreading the rumor that RiRi and Brown want to perform a duet together at the 55th annual even set to be held on Sunday, Feb. 10.

Meanwhile, Bieber (nominated for no awards) claims that he won't even be attending the Grammys this year.
