Heath Ledger's 'Drk Knight' Joker Diary Revealed in 'Too Young to Die' Documentary Trailer

It's been a few years since fans mourned the loss of actor Heath Ledger, but a new documentary entitled Heath Ledger: Too Young to Die reveals the much talked about diary of the actor, which he kept during his transformation into his Oscar-winning performance as The Joker in The Dark Knight. "A German documentary about the life of Heath Ledger is giving a glimpse into how he created his chilling Joker for The Dark Knight," Entertainment Weekly reports. The film will involve a lot about Ledger's life and his career. Kim Ledger, Heath's father is shown in a scene "leafing through a diary his son kept while preparing for the [Joker] role," Entertainment Weekly says. The film will go into Ledger's early life as well as an Australian actor and Slash Film says that the documentary, "interviews with his early school day friends, fellow artists from the film industry such as Terry Gilliam, and especially Heath Ledger's father paint a very personal picture of the century talent." The angle of the film also focuses on Ledger's natural talent as an actor and his method. He apparently was talented in other areas of the arts like photography, creating collages and producing music videos.

One of the most coveted pieces of the documentary will be the behind-the-scenes look on his preparations for the role of the Joker. It was his one of his final performances and arguably the most iconic for his fans. The Daily Mail notes, "the diary shows that Heath took a lot of inspiration from Malcolm McDowell's character in A Clockwork Orange and even from hyenas. 'He pretty well locked himself up in a hotel room for weeks. He galvanized the upcoming character. That was typical of Heath. He would do that. He liked to dive into his characters, but this time he really took it up a notch [his father says]."

The documentary clips that are available to view might be a bit heart-wrenching, but it's a nice tribute to really see more of Ledger's dedication and talent.
