Topher Grace will be joining the cast of War Machine starring Brad Pitt, which is a black comedy set during the War on Afghanistan. The American Ultra actor is the newest star to sign on for the highly anticipate Netflix original dark comedy.

According to Ted Sarandos, Netflix COO, "War Machine is a rip-roaring, behind-the-facade tale of modern war decision-makers, from the corridors of power to the distant regions of America's ambitions. Brad and David are a perfect team to make this timely, compelling and entertaining film (via AceShowbiz)." Apparently, it has been a great shoot and a lot of fun so far so we can imagine that adding someone with such a great comedic background as Grace would only increase the laughs.

"Grace will portray a civilian media adviser to Pitt's four-star U.S. military general, who's trying to win the war in Afghanistan. War Machine is directed by David Michod (Animal Kingdom) and based on Michael Hastings' book The Operators: The Wild and Terrifying Inside Story of America's War in Afghanistan," Variety reports. According to what the book is about, the film will give a satirical inside look on what goes on in the military. "Hastings takes us on patrol missions in the Afghan hinterlands, to late-night bull sessions of senior military advisors, to hotel bars where spies and expensive hookers participate in nation-building gone awry," MichaelHastings.com says of the book in and of itself. As of June, Netflix bought the distribution rights for the film and so the film will come to theaters and reach Netflix streaming in 2016.

This is an awesome role for Grace and he is very much keeping himself busy with other projects that are will be coming out soon. Deadline reports, "[Grace] stars opposite Cate Blanchett and Robert Redford in the Rathergate drama Truth, which Sony Pictures Classics releases in mid-October for awards season. He'll next be seen in the stoner assassin action comedy American Ultra opposite Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg and stars in the Jason Blum-produced Home." So not only can we look forward to an awesomely funny film coming to us next year, but we can expect to see Grace a lot the rest of this year.
