Fans of The View might have had to say goodbye to Nicolle Wallace earlier this month when it was revealed that she was being fired from the ABC morning talk show. However, it doesn't seem like Wallace left the series on such good terms as she is opening up today about being canned and just how she found out she wouldn't be returning. Turns out the star learned that she wouldn't be rejoining Whoopi Goldberg, Raven Symone, Michelle Collins, and Candace Cameron Bure on the panel the same way that her fans did- in the news.

According to Radar Online, Wallace was shocked to learn that she wasn't getting the invitation to rejoin the cast when a piece was printed in the media about it.

"They never called me," the star explained in a new interview with Varietysaying that it was also an article written in the magazine that was what first broke the news on her firing.

"The night [Variety's] story ran, they summoned my agent and told me they'd like to consider me for a contributor role," Nicole explained of ABC. "They also made me an offer at ABC News to do the conventions and debates."

However, the starlet and former communications chief for George W. Bush said that she wasn't interested in the downgrade.

"If it had been two days a week or enough time to have more or a presence I'd consider it," Nicolle explained. "They weren't interested in negotiation with me. It didn't make sense for me."

While the split from the show was hard, Wallace doesn't seem like she has any hard feelings.

"I don't wish them anything but roaring success," the starlet explained. "But it's sort of like a breakup. If you're dating the quarterback and then you go out with the hockey player, you just go to the hockey games. I don't think I'll still go to the football games."
