Tracy Morgan is heading back to Saturday Night Live! This time, however, he'll be serving as the host of his once-upon-a-time home. His episode, which will air on Oct. 17, will be preceded by the likes of Trainwreck star Amy Schumer and Season 41 premiere host Miley Cyrus. The 30 Rock lead's return to SNL is not only exciting because Morgan is hilarious, but also because it'll be one of his first performances since that horrifying car accident back in 2014.

Morgan was involved in a crash last summer that killed fellow stand-up, and friend, James McNair. The accident also left Morgan hospitalized for quite some time. Back in June, he appeared on The Today Show to let everyone know that he'll soon be returning to comedy:

"I can't believe I'm here," Morgan said in the interview with Matt Lauer. "I can't believe I'm in front of you. And just seeing the tragedy that happened, it kinda—it touches me."

He ended the interview promising that he'll soon get back to making us all laugh. Which seems like a guarantee this coming Oct. 17.

NBC made the announcement via SNL's official Twitter account, saying:

Folks, who are you most excited for this coming season? Is anyone else hoping Tracy Morgan makes SNL, and the viewers themselves, pregnant?

Schumer, who will host the week before Morgan, is going to be promoting her upcoming HBO special, Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo Theater, which airs the very same day Morgan hosts Saturday Night Live

So, which are you going to watch?
