Billy Joel & Wife Alexis Joel Welcome Baby Della Rose [PHOTOS}

On August 12th, rock and roll legend Billy Joel and wife Alexis Joel welcomed their beautiful baby daughter Della Rose! The family was in good spirits and photos of the new baby and her family were posted to the Internet. Us Weekly reports Della Rose's stats, "In the new photo, the dark-haired cutie pie rests comfortably in her mom's arms. She wears a white onesie and appears to be giving her parents a big smile...[she was born] in New York at 2:40 a.m. According to Joel's rep, Della Rose was born at 7 pounds, 6.5 ounces."

Alexis Joel posted a photo of her new baby girl and wrote a caption saying "Della Rose Joel. Thank you for all the love! She's absolutely perfect! Busy, busy, here at the Joel home but I wanted to share a pic. Love, Alexis," the Daily Mail says. It's not just the proud new mom here, even her older sister Alexa Ray Joel couldn't help but post photos of her new baby sister. She captioned her photos with a beautiful sentiment for her father and his wife, "'Celebrating the arrival of my precious little sister this week// With Pop and his Darling's happiness at their peak // As long as you are growing in love and loyalty // You're cultivating a life worth more than royalty. #ShamelesslySentimental #SappyBigSis," Daily Mail reports. Alexa Ray, 29, is Joel's daughter from his marriage with Christie Brinkley.

This baby is a long time coming considering the news of the "Piano Man" singer's wife's pregnancy first surfaced back in April of this year and then the exciting news that the two had finally "tied the knot" on July 4th. Us Weekly reports, "Joel, 66, and Alexis, 33, wed in a secret ceremony at their Long Island estate...He also was previously married to Elizabeth Weber from 1973 to 1982 and celebrity chef Katie Lee from 2004 to 2011." The family looks healthy and happy and ready to plan all of the fun things ahead for them!
