If you're a fan of Mikkelsen, or if you've seen him in such films as Casino Royale or Valhala Rising, you know that he can play evil better than anyone. Plus, there's plenty of evil involved in the Dark Side of the Force featured in the Star Wars universe; but is Mikkelsen playing to type again as the movie's bad guy?

Early reports suggested Mendelsohn, another noted villain in numerous, acclaimed roles, would portray the antagonist in Rogue One, but we can definitely imagine two baddies from director Edwards.

Well, according to Mikkelsen himself, he won't be portraying a villain in the film, though his role is very important!

"It is a very important role, as much I can say," he told Ekstra Bladet (via Slash Film). "No, my character is actually not a bad guy, and then I cannot say more. I can also say that the movie will be shot in Iceland and England. And the filming will last for three months."

According to IGN, the villain rumors erupted after speculation from Nerdist suggested Mikkelsen could portray Imperial Admiral Montferrat. It looks like we'll have to keep guessing.
