Amazon Announces Alcohol, Ice Cream & More One-Hour Delivery Service

Delivery alcohol; this is an idea we're sure you've thought about many a night while yearning for some beer, liquor or wine, but what if we told you one of the biggest online retailers in the world can make this a reality? According to a new press release from Amazon, a one-hour delivery service called Amazon Prime Now is in the early stages of development and testing has started in Washington state. The service also provides delivery of other items like paper towels, TVs, Kindles, ice cream and a lot more! What more could you possibly ask for? Find out more about this service below.

"Prime Now is our fastest delivery option ever. With Prime Now, you can skip a trip to the store and get the items you need delivered right to your door in under an hour," Stephenie Landry, director of Amazon's Prime Now service, said in a new statement about the service. "Customers love the convenience of one-hour delivery and we're excited to bring Prime Now to our hometown customers in Seattle and surrounding areas."

Right now, select cities in Washington state have the service available to its citizens. Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond and Kirkland are those cities, according to Gawker. Also, Portland, Oregon, too:

Apparently, two-hour delivery from Prime Now is free while one-hour delivery would cost $7.99.

So when will this delivery service spread out across the nation?

"We haven't yet provided a timeline for delivering alcohol in other U.S. cities," a spokesperson from Amazon explained to BuzzFeed News. "Like with any product offering, we will evaluate customer response and if customers love the convenience of having alcohol delivered in under an hour right to their doors then we'll look to expand the offering."
