In spite of recent reports spurred by the rumor mill, Britney Spears will soon be singing "Viva Las Vegas."

Extra TV reported the "Scream & Shout" singer finalized a worthwhile deal for a concert residency in Las Vegas. The 31-year-old singer's manager Larry Rudolph confirmed the news on Tues Feb. 5. He said that the contract is completely done and they are now waiting to select between two casinos under the Caesars Entertainment Group. A formal announcement will be made in a few weeks.

The singer may have hinted at the deal herself responding to a fan's tweet on Sun. Feb 3 who asked if dogs were allowed to game in Vegas. She replied, "I don't think so honey #VivaLasVegas :)"

This week Foo Fighters head band member, David Grohl filled in for Chelsea Handler on the late night talk show, "Chelsea Lately." While participating in the round table discussion, Grohl mocked Spears' long awaited confirmation to perform in Vegas. He prematurely reported that Britney Spears would not be doing a residency in Las Vegas. Signaling that at 31, with two children and a troubled past, Spears is a far cry from the energetic teen that sprang on to the scene with "Hit me Baby One More Time."

"She just kind of seems dead inside. There's nothing behind her eyes, there's nothing in her boobs anymore," he joked.

If the residency deal goes through, Spears will be following in the footsteps of popular Vegas acts like Celine Dion. Dion's residency extended 70 shows in 2011, earning her a reported $20 Million.

Moving full speed ahead with more changes, Spears recently split from her ex-fiancé, Jason Trawick and quit as a judge on X-Factor.
Spears and Trawick, 41, got engaged in December 2011.

"Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement," Spears said in a statement. "I'll always adore him and we will remain great friends," she said.

The couple began dating in May 2010, following a turbulent few years in Spears' personal and professional life in which she lost custody of her children, she entered rehab and shaved off her hair.

Trawick added in a statement: "As this chapter ends for us a new one begins. I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever."

The wedding would have been the third for Spears. She divorced dancer Kevin Federline, with whom she had two children, in 2006.
