According to legendary Detroit rapper Eminem, today's hip-hop needs big-name artists like Lil Wayne, Big Sean, and Drake:

I just try to pay attention to what's out... Wayne puts out a new song, and my ears perk up. There are certain artists that make me do that just because of the caliber that they rhyme at. It's like candy to me. Kendrick, the way he puts albums together, front to back, they're like pieces of art... But hip-hop needs Drake, too. Hip Hop needs Big Sean. I feel like hip-hop is in a good place right now. There's this balance of things going on, and it feels like some of the best rappers are the most successful. Sometimes that's not the case (via New York Times, July 2015).

And Drizzy's hit single "Forever" featuring the infamous "Rap God" (also Weezy and Kanye West) really helped put the YMCMB superstar on the map back in 2009:

So, why are some Twitter fans still hating on the 6 God hypeman (especially in comparison to the "real" Slim Shady)?

@Loredo_SG: "Eminem 50x the rapper/writer Drake is. Drake's more of a 'I make music for the masses' it was an outlet for Em."

@Eminem_2015_: "[Eminem Show] - still a better message than most of Drake's songs."

@nballaccess: "The difference between when Eminem and Drake release an album."

@iwantyourioveLG: "idk why but this reminds me of an eminem video... i think drake low key copied him."

@httpxaseel: "People constantly comparing drake to eminem - okay."

Do MstarsNews readers agree, or should Drizzy be held to the same standards as the MMLP2 emcee? Perhaps another epic collaboration's in order...

Em continues working behind-the-scenes, but the Toronto native's highly-anticipated new record should officially hit airwaves sometime later this year. Will the "Phenomenal" icon be featured on any upcoming surprise tracks?
