Rappers Jadakiss and Styles P have opened up a chain of juice bars in order to provide a nutritional option to low-income neighborhoods. According to Elite Daily, the LOX members have teamed up to open up three different Juices For Life stores, where they can provide natural juices for customers who can consume something good for them for a change. Many of the lower-income neighborhoods are labeled as “food deserts,” with nearly no convenient access to marketplaces containing nutritional food that isn’t processed, expired or GMO-free.

Styles P recently spoke out on the situation at hand for residents of these neighborhoods. "In the poorer communities, mostly, the money gets invested in liquor stores and the kind of things we don’t need,” he commented. “Growing up in Yonkers, New York, we didn’t know what was good for us. If you walk down the block in the hood, it’s nearly impossible to find something healthy to put in your body. We were consuming whatever was made available to us. We didn’t have the knowledge of the opportunity that we do now,” describes Jadakiss in the Juices For Life promotional video.

Founder and CEO of Brown’s Super Stores, Jeff Brown, is also providing to low-income neighborhoods with a chain of grocery stores that “offers high quality and nutritional food at affordable prices.” He commenting on the objective behind the two MC’s and their chains, stating, “What Jadakiss and Styles P are doing, they’re successful, and they don’t need to be concerned about society… They’re deciding to use their success to make a difference for people. I think if we all did that, we’d fix a lot of our country’s problems.”

There are currently three locations of Juices For Life, with one being in the Bronx, one in Yonkers, and the other in New York. Jadakiss and Styles P do plan on expanding the brand and their number of chains into other neighborhoods in need of more nutritional options.
