Amber Heard, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Ben Whishaw also star in this highly anticipated film.

Lili Elbe's story is obviously important and needs to be told, but the relationship between Lili and Gerda, from what we can tell from this trailer, is truly remarkable. We've all seen period dramas with obstacles thrown into the mix, forcing lovers into situations and troubles, but this is a true story of how love prevailed during the most important decisions of this couples lives, respectfully.

There are still so many prejudices towards transgender people today, so you can only imagine what it was like for Elbe in the 1930s. This trailer gives us a glimpse, and we're sure the movie will barely strike the surface of the hardships she had to endure, but this looks like one of the most important films of the year, if not the decade.
