Houston Rockets' center Dwight Howard is no longer a part of team Adidas and as of earlier this morning, he has officially signed a deal with Chinese sportswear company, Peak. Why do you think he quit after numerous shoes and signed a new contract deal?

According to Complex Magazine, although Howard had multiple sneakers with Adidas, he decided to leave the sportswear company for Peak. Other NBA players who are a part of the brand include Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs, and Chandler Parsons of the Dallas Mavericks.

The first sign of Howard leaving Adidas was when he was spotted wearing a pair of Jordan 1s while shooting in the gym earlier this year. Due to his departure from Orlando and Los Angeles, Adidas downgraded Howard's importance for the brand. They've begun to focus on younger stars. Also, according to Forbes, Howard's signature sneaker line was at the very bottom of the best-sellers list. Since Howard's contract with Adidas was on the verge of expiring (before the start of the next season), Howard was bound to sign a new deal; it just so happened that he signed one with the Chinese sneaker brand Peak.

According to Sole Collector, the Chinese sportswear company, Peak, announced via Twitter the confirmation of Dwight's contract, which has now been deleted.

Although a signature sneaker for Howard has not been released yet, you can definitely expect to see something during this upcoming NBA season. And maybe this new sneaker deal will get Howard to step his game up and potentially get the Rockets, alongside James Harden of course, to the 2015-2016 NBA Finals.

In other news, Dwight Howard sat with Complex Magazine and spoke on the Dunk Contest of 2014 during All Star Weekend. He claimed his favorite slam of the night was John Wall's dunk, and he spoke on the best of his career, which happened to be his dunk during the New York Knicks game with the assist by Hedo Turkoglu when he was still with Orlando.
