Based on the cult classic from Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez, El Rey Network continues Season 2 of From Dusk Till Dawn. In an exclusive interview with MStars News, Jeff Fahey (Justified) discusses the return of Seth (D.J. Cotrona) and Richie (Zane Holtz) Gecko's Uncle Eddie Cruickshank.

In our previous recap, while Seth and Kate (Madison Davenport) are working together on a potential heist, Santanico and Richie have launched their first strike against Lord Amancio Malvado (Esai Morales). But who is more obsessed with the other, Santanico or Malvado? Wanting his prized possession back, Malvado has awoken The Regulator (Danny Trejo) from his slumber and ordered the ancient hit-man to find the Geckos.

In our recent recap, Sex Machine (Jake Busey) has risen from the Labyrinth, alive but different like Carlos Madrigal (Wilmer Valderrama). Though he promised never to come after the Geckos again, supernatural forces bring Texas Ranger Freddie Gonzalez (Jesse Garcia) to the conclusion that something big is coming. After their first encounter with The Regular led to a room full of casualties, Seth has split from Kate. Meanwhile, Malvado is close deciphering the ancient prophecy but needs the Savini codex to decipher the text.

Before episode 3 airs tonight at 9pm on El Rey Network, MStars participated in a press event with Fahey as he dished on what's to come for the Gecko Brothers, working with writer/director Robert Rodriguez after collaborating on Grindhouse: Planet Terror, and what viewers should expect from the infamous Uncle Eddie.

On how he became involved in the project:

Jeff Fahey: Whenever Robert reaches out to me, I'm usually off somewhere on the other side of the world, and I always say yes without even reading it, because that's just the way it is. This time, I was doing a play over in London (the revival of Twelve Angry Men) back in 2013, and Robert called and asked me if I was free next month to shoot a role that he had for me in the show, and I told him that I was committed to the play for the next six months, so he said that it wasn't a problem and he'd write something else.

We then ended up getting the play extended for another four months, and after that I was in New Mexico filming Texas Rising, and he called me again to tell me that he had something, so I wanted to know when he was going to start shooting, and luckily I was done by then - so he sent me all the material, and after I'd read it, I was in. I just flipped over the character and the relationship with the brothers and how Eddie fits into the whole story, and the dialogue is so rich - it's a mix of the old pulp writers and has this rhythm and pace to it and all these layers of mythology and these other worlds - it's just a blast to play, and it feels like a group of kids just going in and having fun.

On who Uncle Eddie Cruickshank is:

JF:  Well, Uncle Eddie is Seth and Richie's uncle - their father's brother. Their father died in a fire when the kids were around 8 and 10, so Eddie took them in, raised them, mentored them, and in essence, nurtured them into the thieves that they are today. He is a professional lifelong criminal, but he's one that's got a certain code of ethics within that criminal world - a man of slanted morals and principles, but within that world, he'd be considered one of the more ethical criminals. He sees the difference between Richie and Seth - one being the brains, and one being the brawn - one being the guts, and one being the thoughtful one, and at times one being more excitable while the other is too thoughtful, and he always thought with the two of them together, they were the perfect team.

On what Uncle Eddie brings to the sophomore season:

JF: As we come into Season 2, we see that the brothers have not only had an emotional split, but a geographical one as well, and as they come back into Eddie's world, hopefully they'll get their grounding again, and I think there's a mixed emotion with Eddie - on one hand, he's upset about some of the things that have gone on, but on the other hand he's very excited and happy to have the boys back.

On creating the backstory of Uncle Eddie Cruickshank:

JF: [Uncle Eddie] has his own code of conduct and values, and he has a certain criminal ideology, a code of conduct, which doesn't involve, I would say it's more of the planning and pulling off heists. I'd say it's safe to say that Eddie doesn't believe in hurting people. He's a thief. He believes in taking things, taking money."

On the broken relationship between the Gecko brothers:

JF: I think it's a mixed emotion that inside he's happy and very thrilled to them, to see that they're alive, but I think, as I said, Uncle Eddie is sad when they're not together because he believes they are the ultimate team.

On whether Uncle Eddie can actually help the Gecko brothers:

JF: It's safe to say that the guys are scattered. They've got their problems between themselves, and it looks like they are headed back to home base to regroup, and whether they are aware of it or not, to come back and get some of that good old advice and guidance from their mentor.

On the chemistry between the three:

JF: What's wonderful is each one of those, Seth and Richie, and Eddie for that matter, they all dance to the beat of their own drummer, but within that world they are all thieves, and so when you mix those three elements together, you're going to come up with a bit of rock and roll.
