Mad Men star Jon Hamm and his longtime girlfriend, actress and writer Jennifer Westfeldt, have shocked fans around the world this week by announcing their amicable breakup in a joint statement. The couple revealed that their 18-year relationship has dissolved this week, with many blaming Hamm's recent rehab stint as one possible cause of the split. "With great sadness, we have decided to separate, after 18 years of love and shared history," the couple announced this week in a joint statement released to People Magazine. "We will continue to be supportive of each other in every way possible moving forward."
According to Uproxx, the last time Hamm and Westfeldt were seen together was at the premiere party for Netflix's Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp on July 22. Reports claim the two showed no signs of relationship trouble and were "canoodling" in front of cameras and guests. It seems like August was a tough month for them.
It looked like this Hollywood couple could fare the worst of predicaments together, including Hamm's recent stint in rehab for alcohol abuse, but we're sad to report that this turned out to be untrue.
"With the support of his longtime partner Jennifer Westfeldt, Jon Hamm recently completed treatment for his struggle with alcohol addiction," Hamm's representative's told TMZ earlier this year after he left rehab. "They have asked for privacy and sensitivity going forward."
