Taylor Swift is on set in Los Angeles, California, shooting the music video for her new single, "22," and it seems like the singer is taking some fashion cues from her ex-boyfriend, Harry Styles. Sporting a loose-fitting top, tight jeans, boots, and a beanie hat, Swift looks like she raided Styles' closet before the break up (CLICK HERE). This outfit is incredibly fitting considering that this song features the line: "It feels like a perfect night to dress up like hipsters, and make fun of our exes." This video shoot is right on the tails of her Grammy Awards performance where she mocked Harry Styles in the bridge of her song "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together." She also stated in a recent interview that she does not "chase boys" or "yell at ex-boyfriends." We are getting a ton of mixed signals over here, Taylor.
It seems like Swift will never ever (see what I did there?) change her ways. We are all used to all of the break up songs, her practice of getting back at exes by making her songs about them a little obvious, and the actions she takes in order to draw more attention to the break ups, thus furthering her career. People may consider all of this annoying, but it is really all just part of a bigger tactic. Taylor Swift is a huge pop star. She used to just be a country pop star, which was a great feat in itself, but has since fully crossed over into the mainstream world. She found a formula and she is sticking to it. Many media sources like to take jabs at the singer, but I have always felt like she is just part of a bigger picture. Who knows if some (or any) of these relationships are even real? There certainly are a lot of them, and a bunch of her exes have been the subjects of gay rumors. But this is just speculation. Things are not as cut and dry as people think, that is all I am trying to say.
Swift's actions do raise a pretty intriguing question, though: What if she dated me? I would not mind that. She is very attractive and we grew up kind of close to each other in Pennsylvania, so we could bond over that. Taylor is (reportedly) about an inch taller than me, but we can get past that. But if we broke up would she dress up like me in a music video for a song she probably wrote about me? Would you like to see Taylor Swift wearing t-shirts of bands I used to be in with very worn jeans and thick socks?
