The highly-anticipated eighth movie installment of the popular "Fast & Furious" film franchise is already scheduled for an April 2017 release. But did fans know that back in 2001, Detroit rapper Eminem was initially considered for the main role of Brian O'Connor, which ultimately went to the late Paul Walker?

According to MoviePiolet.com, Walker's onscreen "dream team" - including Dwyane 'The Rock' Johnson, Vin DieselMichelle Rodriguez,Tyrese GibsonChris 'Ludacris' Bridges, and Jordana Brewster - just happened to work out that way. Several viewers immediately applauded Walker's beloved character, but what would've happened if the infamous "Rap God" was destined for the lead part? Or how about Christian Bale and Mark Whalberg?

Walker tragically passed away in a car crash back in November 2013.

Perhaps a romance could've ignited between Shady and Academy Award winner, Natalie Portman. Rumors suggest she almost landed the role of Mia (now played by Brewster).

Another interesting thought - Tommy Lee Jones replacing The Rock as Luke Hobbs. Apparently, producers also had Josh Brolin in mind. Weird, right?

Oh, and Hollywood icon Denzel Washington was supposed to play a "big part" in "FF7," but ultimately turned the opportunity down. Details remain unconfirmed.

So, maybe Em should make a surprise appearance in the upcoming action flick, considering he's now making a respected name for himself in the movie bizz? Several Twitter fans still love his performance in "8 Mile" -

‏@_jordanbray: "I watch 8 mile just to see eminem kill it at the battle in the end of the movie #unreal."

@jordanbby_: "I've never been a big fan of eminem but 8 mile will forever be my favorite movie."

@anseldonteathat: "Eminem is my new idol i watched 8 mile the other day and im inspired and i stole two of his cds off my dad like a thug."

@_shannonroyle: "Eminem in 8 mile is something special."

@marcc_estrada: "a quick shout out to dr dre for discovering eminem bc without that action then 8 mile wouldnt have become one of the best movies of all time."
