In light of the recent allegations of Floyd Mayweather using a banned IV at his home the day before his fight with Manny Pacquiao (possibly to mask the presence of illegal substances in the body), Mayweather believes he has the potential to continue fighting until he turns 50.

According to ESPN, Mayweather was caught using a banned IV at his home prior to his fight with Pacquiao. Sources claim that the IV contained a combination of saline and vitamins used to treat dehydration; an IV like this could potentially be used to mask the presence of other substances (such as illegal substances) in the body before a drug test.

The USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency) granted Mayweather a Therapeutic Use Exemption to allow him to use the IV, but the Nevada State Athletic Commission claimed the USADA does not have the authority to grant an exemption like this to fighters.

Bob Bennett, the executive director of NSAC, called out the USADA for this practice:

"The TUE for Mayweather's IV-and the IV was administered at Floyd's house, not in a medical facility, and wasn't brought to our attention at the time-was totally unacceptable," Bennett said. "I've made it clear to [USADA CEO] Travis Tygart that this should not happen again. We have the sole authority to grant any and all TUEs in the state of Nevada. USADA is a drug-testing agency. USADA should not be granting waivers and exemptions. Not in this state. We are less than pleased that USADA acted the way it did."

Now, with the Mayweather and Andre Berto fight right around the corner, Mayweather is taking it upon himself to encourage boxing fans to pay for what could potentially be his last bout.

In an interview with Fight Hype, Mayweather explained his decision to step away from the ring after his final fight with Berto.

"I've been offered nine figures to continue to fight already and that's upfront," he said. "I mean, I think I'm skillful enough and have the boxing IQ to go to 50, but I think everything happens for a reason. There's a time and a place for everything, and everything comes to an end. I mean, I'm still going to be involved in boxing. I still want to be involved with boxing and helping young fighters, but as far as fighting, this is my last fight."

Hopefully Mayweather fans will have a boxing comeback to look forward to in the next 10 years!
