Country singer, Natalie Maines was compares that getting back to a career in country music is "like going back to your abusive husband."

Maines parodies her returning to country music. When told that her country fans still love her, "You still love me. ... Lots of people don't love me. You know what? It's kind of like going back to your abusive husband. I'm just not feeling it. I'm sorry" she told CMT during the Bruce Springsteen tribute concert in Los Angeles, Feb. 8.

When told that she won't be hit by fans, she said, "Ah, yeah, right. That's what they all say."

She spoke on the influence of Springsteen on her music, "His live show is one of the best I've ever seen, and he just gives it all, every song, and plays forever. And the person on the top row at the very back of the stadium feels like he's there for them," she said.

Maines was the lead vocalist of a female country band, Dixie Chicks. The band won numerous Grammy awards.

After the band released their single "Not Ready to Make Nice" in 2006 they went on a hiatus for several years.

Maines will be dropping her first solo album "Mother" May 7.
