Season nine of BBC America's Doctor Who premiere's this weekend with the first episode of 2015, "The Magician's Apprentice," but this week we've learned the details of the all twelve episodes of the season, too! The first two episodes of season nine make up a two-part story written by showrunner Steven Moffat and directed by Hettie Macdonald. The episodes are entitled "The Magician's Apprentice" and "The Witch's Familiar," respectfully. Will this be the battle we wished for last season?

Here is the description of the opening episode:

Where is the Doctor? When the skies of Earth are frozen by a mysterious alien force, Clara needs her friend. But where is the Doctor, and what is he hiding from? As past deeds come back to haunt him, old enemies will come face-to-face, and for the Doctor and Clara survival seems impossible...

Michelle Gomez returns as Missy and Jemma Redgrave is back as Kate. Kelly Hunter, Clare Higgins, Jaye Griffiths, Harki Bhambra, Daniel Hoffmann-Gill, Joey Price, Aaron Neil, India Ria Amarteifio, Dasharn Anderson, Demi Papaminas, Jami Reid-Quarrell, Benjamin Cawley, Stefan Adegbola, Shin-Fei Chen, Lucy Newman-Williams, Barnaby Edwards, Nicholas Pegg, Jonathon Ojinnaka and more make up the supporting cast.
