Kristen Stewart Heartbreak: First Love Robert Pattison Inspires 'Equals' Crush Nicholas Hoult?

Kristen Stewart plays a very (evolving) emotional character in Drake Doremus' upcoming sci-fi/romantic drama, "Equals." So, how did "Twilight" ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson help 25-year-old Stewart prepare for this unique role?

While chatting with E! Online at the Toronto International Film Festival just a few weeks ago, Stewart explains:

"I definitely wear my heart on my sleeve. Sometimes that provides a little bit of a tougher road, but for me it's definitely more preferable... The work that I'm most interested in, it always comes from a real place. You take every first you ever had, and you bottle it up in a moment and the devastating effect is something like anyone who has fallen in love at a young age has felt."

So, is K-Stew cryptically referring to her devastating break-up with the 29-year-old British heartthrob several years ago? Pattinson was the Hollywood beauty's first "true love" at a very young age, so she probably learned a lot from that specific situation. And in "Equals," Stewart had to build a strong onscreen connection with sexy co-star, Nicholas Hoult. Did R-Patz provide any strong inspiration?

Well, as the popular gossip webloid HollywoodLife.com actually points out, Stewart's first serious boyfriend was a guy named Michael Angarano (she dated him for four years before connecting with Pattinson in 2009). So the "Still Alice" starlet's statement could just be a broad observation. Stewart finally concludes:

"Every day that's led up to this day has made me who I am... Everything I have, I have put into this movie."

So maybe things didn't end so well with Pattinson, but at least Stewart's movie career and success are still booming!
