Harrison Ford is rumored to be reprising his iconic role of Han Solo in the upcoming J.J. Abrams directed Star Wars Episode VII. The announcement of the planned films and then the director had a lot of people buzzing on whether audiences would get to see Han Solo again and if Ford would be back. According to "Latino Review," Ford is willing, ready and on board to play Han Solo again. It is still not clear if this role will simply be a cameo or a maybe a more substantial part. Either way, this is a huge deal. Along with the new Star Wars sequels, stand-alone character prequels, including Han Solo and Boba Fett, have also been rumored but will obviously not involve the 70-year-old Ford.

This news has yet to be confirmed but it is clearly going to garner quite the commotion. Ford had recently stated that reprising the role would greatly interest him. There is one catch, though: He wants Han Solo to die. This is actually the second time Ford mentioned wanting the character that pretty much made him into a household name to die. While making Return of the Jedi Ford told creator George Lucas that Han should not make it out alive. Lucas argued against ford and ultimately won out because he wanted to sell more action figures. After all, a dead character does not make for a fun toy. Maybe Han Solo will be on his deathbed in the sequel. Perhaps he will go out in a blaze of glory. This is all just speculation, clearly, since Disney and Lucasfilm have yet to officially announce anything about Ford's involvement. It is just a lot of fun to think about! Is Chewbacca still around? What happened with Leia and/or Luke Skywalker? There are way too many questions that I want answered and I am not even that big of a Star Wars fanatic.

The main plotlines of these Star Wars sequels are a hot topic as well. Many fans believe that they will focus on Han Solo's and Princess Leia's children and the adventures they go through. The Star Wars extended universe is extremely vast and holds so many options for possible film adaptations. It is definitely too early to get excited about a particular storyline, event, or character at this point but the anticipation itself is electrifying the minds and hearts of fans around the world.
