We still have to wait a few more months for the December 18, 2015 release date of director J.J. Abrams' highly anticipated Disney and Lucasfilm movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but that doesn't mean casting rumors about its 2017 sequel aren't already in full swing! Considering Episode VIII, written and directed by filmmaker Rian Johnson, will directly compliment Episode VII, any rumors or details revealed about the project can potentially be viewed as spoilers for the 2015 release. Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) was spotted at the new movie's film set, which could have revealed plot details for the 2015 blockbuster. Read more on this news below.

According to The Irish Examiner, and many other websites citing this one source, Hamill was seen on the set of Episode VIII, suggesting that the original trilogy star is returning once again as Luke Skywalker in the next installment of the franchise (via Coming Soon / Gamma Squad). Now, this isn't exactly a huge reveal, but it does mean that Skywalker survives the events of The Force Awakens.

Regardless of the severity of this spoiler, we at least know a bit more about the upcoming films, which is sure to make some fans happy.

Another huge casting rumor for Episode VIII centers on Guardians of the Galaxy actor Benicio Del Toro all-but confirming he's portraying the villain in the sequel. His next film, Sicario, hits theaters this weekend, but the actor has been opening up recently about starring in Star Wars.

"I can't tell you much about it but I think that it might happen. It looks like it's going to happen, so I'm very excited," he told Entertainment Tonight last month. "I can't talk too much about it. The script is hard to get. They told me they'd cut my finger if I talk about it... I saw the original one when it came out and it marked me."

These are all rumors right now, so wait for official announcements before getting too excited. Watch the latest trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens right here:
