Fetty Wap became the inspiration for a child with one eye, and the hip-hop star has responded to the boy after learning of his retinoblastoma. The “Trap Queen” vocalist was the center of an Instagram post made by a mother named Brenda Vaden, whose little boy, Jayden, lost his right eye due to the disease. For the past week, followers of Brenda have been making one of her posts on Jayden go viral, as she shared the story of how Wap had inspired to the boy.

Vaden revealed that the “679” rapper’s embrace of his one eye, he lost his left eye at a young age to glaucoma, has led to Jayden to embrace his own appearance. “Similar to Jayden he lost an eye at a young age and along the way he decided that he didn't want to wear his prosthetic eye anymore, so he stopped. Jayden, let it be known, is a Fetty Wap fan, a real fan, not like me ha! Well, today, after weeks of asking, Jayden is venturing the world without his prosthetic,” she writes of the incredible moment.
Users have been trying to get the attention of Fetty Wap by tagging his name on the post, and it has finally reached him. The rapper took to the comments section to send a very kind response to both the mother and Jayden, sharing his thanks.

(Warning: long sentimental post ahead) Today I am forever thankful to a young man named Willie Maxwell aka Fetty Wap. [...] Many close friends, and of course our family know that Jayden was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma at the age of 1. In result of that he had his right eye removed 2 weeks after his 1st bday. He's worn a prosthetic eye since then. He has always been terrified of taking it out and would not be caught without it...and then comes along Fetty Wap... Similar to Jayden he lost an eye at a young age and along the way he decided that he didn't want to wear his prosthetic eye anymore, so he stopped. [...] This young rapper unknowingly gave Jayden something we weren't able to give him-the confidence to be different- and I am grateful to him. "All I wanna do is show ppl that it's not how you look or what you see it's how you see it and what your looking for from yourself. I appreciate his confidence I appreciate you taking the time out for me and thank you for being a fan or me as a person and thank lil man for being a fan of Fetty Wap 100,” Fetty wrote on the post.

Soon enough, the family saw the comment from Wap, and reposted it for all to see on Facebook and a screenshot of the Facebook post on Instagram. Fetty Wap’s embrace of his one eye has made him a standout artist over the last year, and he is now even marketing it on his self-titled debut album cover, releasing next month.
