MStars News has learned that the federal prosecutors working Love and Hip Hop New York's Mendeecees Harris’ drug trafficking case have requested that the judge give him no more than 10 years behind bars for his past crimes.

According to Bossip, the feds don't want Yandy Smith's husband and the father of two of her children to serve a lot of time in prison after he took a deal back in April. Mendeecees previously pled guilty to felony drug trafficking and conspiracy.

MStars News previously reported that Mendeecees, his brother, and another man ferried large amounts of cocaine and heroin to upstate New York. While his brother and the other man involved are currently serving their time in prison, Mendeecees is still awaiting his fate, and could possibly serve up to 40 years in prison with a $5 million fine.

As everyone waits until next month for the sentencing to be determined, the prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney’s Office are fighting for Mendeecees to at least serve between 108 months and 121 months behind bars. The feds wrote a letter to explain why they believed he deserved to not serve a lot of time in prison. They claim that Mendeecees' confession of his role in the drug ring should do some type of justice. Mendeecees also cooperated with authorities on the terms of his plea deal.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office also wants the reality star to give up his VH1 earnings that rounds up to be around, $171,000, and pay an additional $100 fine when he’s sentenced next Friday, on October 2.

“Upon the ground that the defendant has assisted authorities in the investigation or prosecution of the defendant’s own misconduct by timely notifying authorities of the defendant’s intention to enter a plea of guilty, thereby permitting the government to avoid preparing for trial and permitting the government and the court to allocate their resources efficiently, the government hereby moves the court to apply the additional one level downward adjustment for acceptance of responsibility…” Assistant U.S. Attorney Frank Sherman stated in a letter for the court back on September 11.

So far no comment from Harris’ attorney, Donald Thompson, has been made.

Mendeecees and Yandy tied the knot on Memorial Day this year, and welcomed a baby girl, Skylar Smith Harris, in January.
